Ways to Donate
How you can help and support Richmond’s Hope.
Richmond’s Hope is offers support to bereaved children and young people from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Midlothian. In order to make sure we can continue to support these children we rely heavily on public donations and individuals organising and taking part in fundraising events in aid of Richmond’s Hope.
There are a variety of ways in which you can support or donate money to Richmond’s Hope. Please click on the links below to see how you can support us or make a donation. Money raised for Richmond’s Hope Glasgow or Edinburgh will be spent in that area.
Online Giving
This is the simplest and quickest way is to make a donation, you can give online to Richmond’s Hope through Just Giving or Virgin Giving.
Regular Giving
Regular giving allows us to plan ahead, secure in the knowledge that we have guaranteed income. By giving a little each month your donations will help us to continue to support bereaved children and their families.
For Edinburgh regular giving, please contact Kelley Scoular, Office Manager on 0131 661 6818 for details.
For Glasgow regular giving, please contact Val Scholfield, Manager on 0141 230 6123 for details.
Payroll Giving
This is a tax effective way to make a regular donation to Richmond’s Hope through your place of work. Donating straight from you salary or “Payroll Giving”, is a uniquely cost effective way to support our work. You decide how much you would like to give each month – £5 for example. This amount is then paid to us straight from your monthly salary before tax is deducted. That means a gift of £5 actually costs you only £3.90 (or £3.00 if you pay tax at a higher rate). Ask your human resources department if your company run a Payroll Giving scheme if they do download the payroll giving form and give it to your payroll department.

Gift Aid
How Gift Aid works
The Gift Aid scheme is for gifts of money by individuals who pay UK tax. Gift Aid donations are regarded as having basic rate tax deducted by the donor.
Charities or CASCs take your donation (which is money you’ve already paid tax on) and reclaim basic rate tax from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) on its ‘gross’ equivalent – the amount before basic rate tax was deducted.
Basic rate tax is 20 per cent, so this means that if you give £10 using Gift Aid, it’s worth £12.50 to the charity. For donations between 6 April 2008 and 5 April 2011 the charity or CASC will also get a separate government supplement of 3p on every pound you give.
