Ways to Donate
How you can help and support Richmond’s Hope.
Richmond’s Hope is offers support to bereaved children and young people from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Midlothian. In order to make sure we can continue to support these children we rely heavily on public donations and individuals organising and taking part in fundraising events in aid of Richmond’s Hope.
There are a variety of ways in which you can support or donate money to Richmond’s Hope. Please click on the links below to see how you can support us or make a donation. Money raised for Richmond’s Hope Glasgow or Edinburgh will be spent in that area.
Regular giving allows us to plan ahead, secure in the knowledge that we have guaranteed income. By giving a little each month your donations will help us to continue to support bereaved children and their families. You can set up a Direct Debit online at https://bit.ly/RichmondsHope-JustGiving.
If you’d prefer to set up a standing order, please contact Rebecca Amiel, Fundraiser & Training Officer on 0141 230 6123 for details.
This is a tax effective way to make a regular donation to Richmond’s Hope through your place of work. Donating straight from you salary or “Payroll Giving”, is a uniquely cost effective way to support our work. You decide how much you would like to give each month – £5 for example. This amount is then paid to us straight from your monthly salary before tax is deducted. That means a gift of £5 actually costs you only £3.90 (or £3.00 if you pay tax at a higher rate). Ask your human resources department if your company run a Payroll Giving scheme if they do download the payroll giving form and give it to your payroll department.
Our fundraisers help us in so many ways: volunteering, nominating us as their charity of the year at work, and through completing events and challenges to raise funds for Richmond’s Hope. Are you a runner, walker, cyclist or swimmer? Or do you prefer activities like baking, jigsaws or gardening? We’d love to hear your fundraising ideas! Please contact: Rebecca Amiel for the Glasgow branch on 0141 230 6123 or Kelley Scoular for the Edinburgh branch on 0131 661 6818. If you’re needing some inspiration for your fundraising challenge, we’d be happy to chat through creative ways to raise funds for Richmond’s Hope.
During your fundraiser, please take lots of photographs and videos & remember to tag us on social media so we can share your stories. You’ll find us at:

If you would like to receive your sponsorship or donations online set up your own fundraising page with JustGiving or Virgin Money Giving, they will receive any donations made, and claim any gift aid on the donation and send the money direct to our bank.
How Gift Aid works
The Gift Aid scheme is for gifts of money by individuals who pay UK tax. Gift Aid donations are regarded as having basic rate tax deducted by the donor.
Charities or CASCs take your donation (which is money you’ve already paid tax on) and reclaim basic rate tax from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) on its ‘gross’ equivalent – the amount before basic rate tax was deducted.
Basic rate tax is 20 per cent, so this means that if you give £10 using Gift Aid, it’s worth £12.50 to the charity. For donations between 6 April 2008 and 5 April 2011 the charity or CASC will also get a separate government supplement of 3p on every pound you give.
